On Oct. 18, 2023, a local family was recognized as a part of the Texas Family Land Heritage Program.

The Fayette County 4-H Junior Team won Grand Champion Junior Livestock Judging Team in Brazoria County. Team members consisted of Joe Carrales, Hayleigh Pizzitola, Tate Fritsch, and Hudson Holub. Individually, Joe was the high point junior, Hayleigh was 2nd high point, Tate was 3rd high point, and Hudson was 5th high point. Judging as an individual was Abbigale Eichler.
