Bunco Group Donates Food to Food Pantry

The Bunco group meets the second Wednesday of each month at the Cistern Country Store. Instead of a gift exchange in December, they brought non-perishble food for a food pantry. This year the food was brought to the Flatonia Food Pantry. It’s an open group and everyone is welcome. Ladies come from all around including Smithville and Flatonia. Anyone interested should show up at the store between 11 and 11:30 a.m. on the second Wednesday of the month. The game starts at 11:30 and is usually over by 2:30 p.m. which includes a lunch break

4-H Club Donates Blankets, Socks

The Fayette County 4-H Shooting Sports donated blankets and socks to each resident at the Monument Hill Nursing Home in La Grange recently. Just a little gift goes a long way. Remember the loved ones at local nursing homes during this time of year as they may not have someone stop by to see them. A wonderful way to give back to the community. Pictured with Monument Hill Staff is Ashley Conrad, Casen Conrad, Alan Brothers and Quade Brothers of the Fayette County 4-H Shooting Sports.

Senior Connections Celebrate December Birthdays

Seniors have had some wonderful days at Senior Connections this grand month of December 2023. The week started off with some musical notes that soothed our souls as we listened to the music of Dave Hollas. He goes by the nickname, “Super Dave,” which was given to him while he was in college. Dave Hollas was “super” to us, that is for sure.

Tri-County Christmas Eve Services Dec. 24

We all need this special time to gather together as family, friends and people of faith, to celebrate the gift of the Christ Child. In these difficult and uncertain times, we need the peace, joy, love and hope that Jesus brings to the world. In our nation and around the world, where there is so much anger, division, conflict, and war, we are in need of something greater than ourselves to bring light to dispel the darkness and lift our spirits.
