Ellinger Volunteer Fire Dept. Receives Donation from Incredible Knockouts

Shared Lutheran Ministry The next Wednesday service on March 20 will be in Rutersville at St. John with the service starting at 6:30 p.m. Soup Supper will start at 5:30 p.m. Lenten offerings will be designated for AMEN. The topic for this service is titled God’s Will and My Responses. All are welcome.

St. John in Ellinger will have Easter service at 8 a.m. on March 31st with Pastor Phil. Ellinger will also host the Good Friday service at 2 p.m. on Friday, March 29. Make plans to attend.

Lots of Tourism Funds Handed Out

The La Grange City Council approved eight requests for tourism grant funds at their meeting Monday night, March 11. The Tourism Grant Committee considered 10 funding requests and recommended eight of them to the City Council.

Stanzel Family Foundation Welcomes New Leadership

In January the Stanzel Family Foundation’s Board of Directors welcomed three new members: Bradley Neisner, Meagan Velasquez, and Violeta Martinez. While traditionally governed by family members, this marks a significant shift as Meagan and Violeta, distinguished community members, join the board alongside Bradley Neisner, a descendant of founders Victor and Joe Stanzel.

Wendish Heritage Society Annual Fish Fry Sunday

The Texas Wendish Heritage Society will have their Annual Fish Fry Fundraiser on Sunday, March 17. Plates include fried fish, homemade potato salad, pinto beans, coleslaw and hush puppies. Presale tickets are available at the Wendish Museum and First National Bank of Giddings for $15. This will be a drive-thru pick up only from 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at the Serbin Picnic Grounds. There will also be a Country Store available to purchase desserts, dry Wendish noodles and more.
