Ellinger Volunteer Fire Dept. Receives Donation from Incredible Knockouts

Shared Lutheran Ministry The next Wednesday service on March 20 will be in Rutersville at St. John with the service starting at 6:30 p.m. Soup Supper will start at 5:30 p.m. Lenten offerings will be designated for AMEN. The topic for this service is titled God’s Will and My Responses. All are welcome.

St. John in Ellinger will have Easter service at 8 a.m. on March 31st with Pastor Phil. Ellinger will also host the Good Friday service at 2 p.m. on Friday, March 29. Make plans to attend.

Worship services are still offered on Facebook, You Tube and KTIM 89.1 on Sundays at noon. Ellinger has worship every Sunday at 8 a.m. with communion.

Brethren Church 

Fayetteville Brethren Church has services the second, third, and fourth Saturdays of each month at 10 a.m. Other services are at Industry Brethren on the second, third and fourth Saturdays at 5 p.m., Wesley Brethren on Sundays at 9 a.m. and Nelsonville Brethren on Sundays at 10:15 a.m. Rev. Mike Groseclose leads all the services. The Nelsonville service is live streamed on Nelsonville Brethren’s Facebook page.

Hermann Sons 

The Hermann Sons Life Retirement Home Scholarship Fund will award four $1,500 scholarships. The applicant must be a Hermann Sons member for five years and have an insurance certificate and local lodge dues that are paid up. Deadline to apply is April 1. More information can be found at hermannsonslife.org/programs/ scholarships. Many of the lodges award scholarships to seniors that are graduating. Check with your local lodge.

The camp facilities in Comfort will rent the facilities and RV spots for the upcoming eclipse viewing in April. Comfort is in the direct path and will offer obstruction free for this viewing onApril 8. RV spots are $100 a night with no hookup and gates will open at 7 a.m. Dorm rooms are also for rent with options of 20-35 beds per dorm. Food packages are available with either the dorm rental or RV rental. These facilities are open to members and nonmembers. Don’t forget to bring your solar viewing glasses. Food Bank Truck 

The Central Texas Food Bank Truck will be at the Waldeck Lutheran Church located at the junction of FM 1291 and FM 2145 on Saturday, March 16 from 10-11 a.m. Food distribution will be a walk-up method. Volunteers will distribute the food from tables as the recipients walk through the line to make their selections. Everyone must bring their own sturdy reusable bags, boxes or tubs. Wagons will be furnished by CTFB.

Junior Livestock Show 

Come support the 4H and FFA youth of the county with their projects at the La Grange Fairgrounds on Saturday March 23. The appreciation social (hamburger and drinks) will be held during the sale. The Buyer Registration will open at 12:30 p.m. followed by the beef heifer review and the ag mechanic review. The sale will then start at 2 p.m.
