The La Grange boys golf team is on a roll. Monday the Leps won their home tournament at Frisch Auf! and senior Braxton Dahse won the individual title, shooting a 77.

The Fayetteville boys basketball team had no trouble winning its first round playoff game Monday in Columbus as they smashed Waelder 8228. Kole Schmitt and Jack Schley led the way with 17 points each.

It was a big Day Tuesday for Flatonia as both their boys and girls basketball teams won playoff games. The Lady Bulldogs won a third round game 68-38 over Johnson City to advance to the state quarterfinals.

The boys start their playoffs next week: • The La Grange Leopards open the playoffs Monday at 7 p.m. in Brenham against Brookshire (13-18).

Four Fayette County girls basketball teams advanced to the second round of the playoffs, but only one team is going to the third round. The Flatonia Lady Bulldogs were the only local team to survive the area round as they dominated Mumford 5132 Friday.

The La Grange softball team picked up their first two victories of the season last week as they beat San Antonio Johnson 2-1 and Converse Judson 8-2 at the Brenham Leadoff Classic Tournament. The Lady Leps (2-5 overall) play at Snook Tuesday before hosting their home tournament Thursday-Saturday.

The Fayetteville girls basketball team saw its season come to an end Tuesday in Caldwell with a 47-28 loss to Moulton. The Lady Lions finish the season with a 13-17 overall record.

Last week the state-ranked Fayetteville boys basketball team clinched their third straight district title. Tuesday they closed out the regular season with a 75-33 win at RTC to improve to 22-8. Left, RTC’s Cash Robertson faces the defense of Fayetteville’s Lawson Fritsch.
