Nick Goode has had a heck of a spring for Schulenburg. He was the only Shorthorn to place at the regional track meet (6th in the 300 hurdles) and has been playing well for Shorthorn baseball.

The Round Top-Carmine baseball team will begin the playoffs versus Hull-Daisetta with a best-of-three series beginning 4:30 p.m. Thursday, May 1, with a doubleheader at New Caney West Fork High School. If necessary a Game 3 would be back there on Friday at 5 p.m.

La Grange’s district tennis tournament concluded this week in Caldwell. Junior Marissa Muras (Girls Singles) and Juniors Eleanor Carey/Ella Nygren (Girls Doubles) advanced to the semi-finals on Tuesday but both lost to finish 4th in their respective divisions.

The La Grange boys golf team competed at the Region III-4A tournament last week in Huntsville. The Leps were in 9th after Day One, and shot a team total of 355. Day 2 they held the 7th place spot for a while, but struggled towards the end of the round, ending Round 2 scoring 357, and placing 10th in the tournament. La Grange had a twoday 712. The La Grange softball and baseball teams begin their respective post-seasons this week. The Lady Leps softball team (17-8), which was runner- up in their district, opens the 4A Division 1 playoffs with a one-gamer at Ft.

Regional IV-1A Golf Results April 14-15 at Shadow Glen Golf Club in Manor Fayetteville Boys were 6th out of 16 teams 20. Chance Konvicka, Fayetteville 94-90 – 184 25.

The Fayetteville baseball team beat Moulton 15-0 Wednesday as Jack Schley and Chance Konvicka combined to pitch a one-hitter, striking out 11. The game was called after four innings because of the mercy rule.
