Schulenburg volleyball players Tamara Otto, Harly Zapalac, and Mackenzie Kunschick have all played an essential part in the Lady Horns run to the state tournament, the first trip for Schulenburg since 2014. Otto has come up with clutch points, including a game winner vs Skidmore-Tynan. Kunschick put down a bunch of kills to spark the offense, and Zapalac has served timely aces. These three will be counted on again in Garland during their bid to a state title.

“ I was really nervous, I don’t know why. I’m just signing a piece of paper, but I have been waiting for this a while.

The past two seasons, the Schulenburg volleyball team has been knocking on the door of the state tournament, only to fall one win short in 2020 and 2021. This year’s Lady Horns broke down the door.

We did not have anyone pick all 10 games right in last week’s Reader Pick It contest, sponsored by Oviedo Auto group. That concludes the game for this season, but it will return next season!.
