This year’s Lady Leps are making history – in more ways than one. With Thursday’s 64-50 area round playoff victory over Salado, the 2026 La Grange girls basketball team tied the program record for wins in a season.
The Fayetteville girls basketball team had no trouble winning its first round playoff game Tuesday, bashing Runge 54-27 in Flatonia. The Lady Lions improved to 19-14 overall with the win and now advance to face D’Hanis Friday at 8 p.m.
The Flatonia girls basketball team opened the playoffs in dominant fashion, beating Rosebud-Lott 83-33 Monday in Caldwell. Senior Summer Sodek was one steal away from getting a quadruple-double in the game.
The La Grange girls basketball team had a dominant postseason opener Monday as they beat Sealy 71-30 in Schulenburg to win the bidistrict title. The Lady Leps improved to 29-8 with the win and now face Salado (287) in the second round of the 4A playoffs Thursday at 6:30 p.m. in Thrall. The winner of that game advances to face the Bridge City/Wheatley winner.
The Round Top-Carmine girls basketball team won its playoff opener Tuesday, beating Nordheim 48-13 at Yoakum High School. The Cubettes now advance to face Nueces Canyon Thursday at 6 p.m. in Johnson City.
The Schulenburg boys basketball team is having a special year. They went 23-9 in the regular season, were district champs and won eight in a row – and a big reason why is the player Van Prihoda.
The Schulenburg girls basketball team beat Thorndale 55-29 Tuesday in Manor to clinch a bidistrict title. The Lady Horns (25-8) now advance to play Iola in the second round
It was a memorable start and end to Tuesday’s regular season finale for the La Grange boys basketball team. Oliver Gunn’s only shot this season went in for a three to begin the game.
The Leopards took on the Cameron Yoemen Tuesday night at Leopard Stadium, winning 2-1. The Leps took control early, winning the passing battle and field position battle.
