La Grange Lady Leps Varsity Soccer team delivered a strong team performance on Tuesday, defeating the Caldwell Lady Hornets 3-1. With the win, the Lady Leps Varsity has won 11 of its last 13 games and is 9-2 in district play.

The La Grange track team competed in its first meet of the season last week in Lockhart. Both the boys and the girls were sixth in the team standings out of eight teams competing. The La Grange hosts the Leopard Relays this Thursday. La Grange athletes who placed in the top six included:

Numerous Fayette County 4-H members competed in the San Antonio Livestock Show Beef Skill A Thon on Monday, Feb. 16.

The La Grange softball team went 4-2 at their home tournament last week to improve their overall record to 8-4 this season. The Lady Leps opened the tournament with a 4-0 loss to Needville, but bounced back Thursday night to beat the New Braunfels Thunders 7-0 as Brooke Ulrich pitched a complete game one-hitter and Anabella DelaRosa had two hits.

The La Grange girls golf team had their best showing of the season so far during their home tournament at Frisch Auf! Valley Country Club last week. They placed fifth overall.

The La Grange Girls Powerlifting team has had four girls qualify for regionals. These ladies will compete in Edinburg on March 3.

The La Grange baseball team has started the season 2-1 after playing in three games at the Columbus Tournament last week. The Leps started the tourney losing 5-2 to the A&M Consolidated JV, despite two hits by Tristan Ulrich and doubles by Howard Holmes and Ryder Klesel.

Lady Dogs Roll The Flatonia girls basketball team overcame some early struggles and used a dominant fourth quarter to beat Mumford 54-40 Thursday in the second round of the 2A playoffs. Summer Sodek scored 28 points and had ten rebounds in Thursday’s game for Flatonia.

Tuesday Feb. 17 the La Grange High School golf team hosted its home tournament at Frisch Auf Valley Country Club. The varsity boys team tied for 1st place with Bellville, but won the 5-man sudden death playoff hole to claim the 1st place medals. Individual accolades went to Adrian Meneses 2nd place with a score of 77 and Grady Kocian placed 4th, shooting an 80.
