La Grange had five turnovers, including four inside the Gonzales 25 yard line, and those missed scoring chances were more than the difference in a 42-27 win by the Apaches Friday. “It’s not just the turnovers, but the momentum that comes with those turnovers,” said La Grange head coach Kyle Cooper.

After three weeks without anyone going a perfect 10-for-10 in our reader football pick it contest, we had four folks do so last week – Randy Gardiner, Walter Newcomb, Bo Janda and Clarence Hoffman. But it was Hoffman who will pocket the $400 thanks to the score prediction tiebreaker. He almost exactly nailed the final score of the La Grange/Gonzales game. LG Team Tennis concluded its inaugural season finishing with an overall record of 3-4 (2-4 district) and finished 5th out of seven teams (the top four teams qualify for postseason). Here are the Leps’ individual honors:

After his dual 2023 national indoor track titles, coupled with his state title in the 200 meters this spring, La Grange senior Austen Diggs has become one of the most highly recruited track athletes in school history.
