The District 29-1A track meet was held Tuesday in Fayetteville. The Round Top-Carmine girls won the team title by 28 points over Fayetteville.

The following Flatonia Lady Dog track relay teams advanced from the District 28-2A Track Meet on Friday, April 8 at Ganado to the Area track meet that will be held on Monday, April 18 in Flatonia..

The La Grange girls surged to the District 20-4A team track title Tuesday in Giddings, while the La Grange boys fell one point short of continuing a halfdecade of team district dominance. The Lady Leps amassed 207 total points.

Schulenburg golfer Kaz McBride holds the number one position on the golf team and recently qualified for regionals in not just golf, but tennis as well. McBride also performs on the baseball diamond and is currently batting .324 on the season while being asked to take the mound on occasion.

La Grange Softball The La Grange softball team blasted Giddings for the second time this season, beating the Lady Buffs 11-0 on the road Tuesday. La Grange’s Abby Dela Rosa pitched a complete game twohitter with seven strikeouts.

La Grange star wide receiver/ defensive back Bravion Rogers has had scholarship offers to play all over the nation, but Tuesday he verbally committed to play for Texas A&M, tweeting out a photo of himself in an Aggie uniform with the words “Committed” above. Verbal commitments are non-binding and the senior-to-be can’t officially ink a scholarship offer with any school until this fall.

La Grange senior Kambri Mihatsch placed 3rd in girls singles at the 4A Region 3 tennis tournament in Bryan this week. The Schulenburg baseball team won a slugfest over Louise Saturday 10-7. The game was tied 7-7 going into the eighth inning but Schulenburg score three runs in the top of the eighth.

A trio of Schulenburg girls basketball players have earned Texas Girls Coaches Association All-State honors. Left: Airyanna Rodriguez was named to the TGCA all state team. The Schulenburg softball team pounded Louise Saturday 24-1 as the Lady Horns drew 19 walks. Tamara Otto and Kassidy Kubala hit doubles.
