The La Grange girls golf team hosted their home tournament Wednesday at Frisch Auf! Valley Country Club. Cameron won the team title shooting a 401, and Caldwell was second. Cameron’s Brinley Patterson won the individual title, shooting at 86.

The La Grange softball team has started the season with a 1-10 record, but at their home tournament last week there were certainly signs that things could be changing for the better. Though La Grange went winless in their four games, two of the losses were by one run and the other two were by two runs.

The La Grange girls soccer team beat Manor New Tech at home Friday, winning 2-1 on goals by Florencia Barron and an own goal by New Tech. The victory improves the Lady Leps district record to 3-5.

The Fayetteville boys basketball team marched into the third round of the 1A playoffs with a 52-44 victory over McMullen County Friday in Seguin. The Lions improved to 29-5 with the win and now advance to play Moulton Tuesday at 7 p.m. in Columbus.

The La Grange boys very successful basketball season came to an end with a 81-52 loss to Houston Yates in the first round of the 4A playoffs at Katy’s Merrell Center Monday. It was the second consecutive season the Leps had lost in the first round to Yates.
