Weimar Sweeps Schulenburg on the Diamond

The Schulenburg baseball team lost to Weimar 3-1 Tuesday in the district opener for both teams.

The game was tied 1-1 going into the final inning before Weimar scored two runs.

Weimar’s Brady Henke pitched six innings of one-hit ball.

He was matched by Schulenburg’s Connor Fogle, who pitched six innings of threehit one-run ball, striking out seven.

Tyson Wagner got the only hit for the Shorthorns.

Meanwhile Tuesday, the Schulenburg softball team lost 14-0 to Weimar in a district ballgame, as Wildcat pitcher Reagan Wick struck out 18. The Lady Horns are now 0-2 in district play.

The Lady Horns went 2 -1 in the Lady Horn softball tourney over the weekend, beating Rice and Luling but losing to Cuero.
