In what has to be the most important victory for the Flatonia football team in the last few years, the Bulldogs beat Kenedy (a team that was ranked No. 7 in the state just two weeks ago) 35-34 Friday night.

Adrian Anderson ran for 248 yards and a touchdown Friday for the Bulldogs. Freshman quarterback Boston Targac ran for a pair of touchdowns and also threw a touchdown pass to Jaylon Anderson. Jaylon Anderson also launched a 35-yard touchdown pass to Bryson Morrill. Jose Garcia was perfect on the all-important five extra point kicks. Flatonia’s Deangelo Hamilton caused a fumble that was recovered by Josemaria Garcia. Gabriel Aguillon led Flatonia with 12 tackles and he also had a sack.

The victory improves the Bulldogs’ record to 4-3 overall and 2-1 in district. Flatonia plays at No. 1-ranked and unbeaten Shiner this week.
