Volleyball Round-Up: Wins Abound

The La Grange volleyball team went on the road Friday and defeated Manor New Tech 25-3, 25-9, 25-8 to improve to 19-18 overall and 5-1 in district.

They remain one game behind Giddings in the district standings.

Maddi Fritz led the Lady Leps in kills with 11 and Camille Gonzalez had seven.

Hailey Hill and Haylie Cooper each had five digs.

Hill had 10 aces and Jena Jobb had five.

Fritz led in assists with 15 and Hill had 10.

The Lady Leps host Aggieland Homeschool in a non-district match on Tuesday Oct. 4. Freshmen and JV begin at 5:30 p.m. and varsity begins thereafter.

District 22-4A volleyball

Also on Friday: La Grange JV defeated Manor New Tech 25-9, 25-13 District record 6-0; Overall record 14-9 La Grange Freshmen defeated Manor New Tech 25-3, 25-10 District record 4-1; Overall record 13-10

The Round Top-Carmine volleyball team defeated Prairie Lea Friday 25-13, 25-11, 25-12 as the Cubettes improved to 1313 overall and 1-1 in district.

Mallory Krause had 10 kills and 12 assists in Friday’s match. Tess Eilers had seven digs and six aces. Kaysie Ward had six kills, Jessica Rohde had five kills and Jill Eilers had six kills and 15 assists. Maggie Salinas had 14 digs and Kim Rohde had three aces.

The Fayetteville volleyball team defeated Waelder 25-3, 25-7, 25-10 Friday as the No. 1-ranked Lady Lions improved to 32-3 overall and 3-0 in district.

Brooklyn Jaeger had 18 kills. Rylie Dyer and Kynley Hurst each had five kills and Kayme Schley had four. Jaeger had seven aces and Hurst had four. Ava Aldape led in digs with six and Hurst had 25 assists. The Lady Lions host Mc-Dade Tuesday.

Tuesday the Flatonia volleyball team played at Ganado, winning 20-25, 25-15, 25-21, 25-18. That improved the Lady Bulldogs’ record to 11-15 overall and 1-2 in district.

Braidy Fike had 14 kills in that match, Macy Bonds had 12 and Emma Klozik had 11. Bonds had 17 assists. Elzah Herrera had 23 digs and Fike had 12.
