Truss to Pole Vault for Sam Houston

La Grange senior Dylan Truss, who soared to a second place finish at state in the 4A pole vault two weeks ago by clearing 16 feet, signed a letter of intent to join the Sam Houston State University track team Thursday. “I’ve been wanting to go there my whole high school career. My dad went there and my cousin’s going there (All-American vaulter Clayton Fritsch). When I got 16 feet at state I knew I had a secured spot. I love this with my whole heart. I want to try to get 19 feet and go to the Olympics one day.”
