Shiner St. Paul Spoils Schulenburg Homecoming With a 34-7 Win

On homecoming night in Schulenburg, the visiting St. Paul Cardinals (2-1) ruined the party. The defending private school state champs ran for 330 yards on their way to a 34-7 victory over the Shorthorns. Zak Johnson ran for 204 yards and four touchdowns himself.

Schulenburg actually led this game 7-0 after the first quarter thanks to a Kenny King 27 yard touchdown run late in the quarter, but that’s all the scoring the Shorthorns could manage.

The Shorthorns only had 141 total yards of offense. Things get no easier for Schulenburg (2-1) this week as they host 3A East Bernard. The Brahmas are 2-1 and coming off a 49-14 victory over Boling last week.
