Schulenburg vs. Hearne

When: 7:30 p.m. Friday Where: Hearne Records: Schulenburg is 0-5 overall and 0-1 in district. Hearne is 2-2 overall.

Of Note: The Shorthorns started district play with a 36-7 loss to Thorndale last week, and it only gets tougher as they face a Hearne team that was the preseason pick by many to win the district. Hearne went 8-4 last season but is only 2-2 so far this year, but both losses are to teams ranked in the state’s top 10 rankings. Hearne also had last week off. Offense has been a problem for the Eagles. They’ve only scored six points total over their last three games, but defensively they are great. They limited No. 2-ranked Burton to just six points in a 6-0 overtime loss Sept 2. By contrast Burton beat Schulenburg 56-41 Sept. 9.
