Schulenburg at Luling

When: 7:30 p.m. Friday

Where: Luling

Records: Schulenburg is 2-3. Luling is 1-3.

Of Note: The Shorthorns look to snap a three-game losing streak as they head to Luling Friday to play a Eagles team that snapped a 32-game losing streak with a Week 2 win over Weimar. But since then Luling has lost two in a row, 18-13 to San Antonio Cole and 19-0 last week to Devine. Luling’s defense had led the way this season, they are allowing just 12.5 points per game, but scoring just eight per contest ... The Shorthorns recent losing streak has come against a trio of very tough teams – Shiner St. Paul, East Bernard and Hallettsville. Schulenburg hasn’t scored more than a single touchdown in any of those three games. After this one, the Shorthorns host Flatonia next week in a district opener that has huge postseason implications.

Last meeting: These two teams last played back in 2019, with the Shorthorns winning 14-7.

Up Next: The Shorthorns host Flatonia next week.
