Round Top-Carmine Volleyball Headed to State Semifinals

In a dominating two days of play at the regional volleyball tournament in Brenham Friday and Saturday, the Round Top-Carmine Cubettes won the regional title – and a berth in the state semifinals.

After beating D’Hanis in three sets Friday in the regional semis, and Richards in four sets Saturday in the regional finals, the Cubettes (27-18) now advance to face Neches (37-8) Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. in Normangee for a berth in the state title match.

That 1A state title match will be Thursday at 3 p.m. in Garland.

The RTC/Neches winner will play the Bronte/Harrold winner.

Friday against D’Hanis RTC won 25-23, 25-12, 2513.

25-22, 23-25, 25-8. In that match, freshman Madison Markwardt had a triple-double with 10 kills, 17 digs, and 29 assists. This was Madison’s 8th tripledouble this year.
