Flatonia welcomed No. 1-ranked Mart to town Friday and Mart played up to that ranking, beating the previously undefeated Bulldogs 31-0.

Mart ran for 247 yards and got a pair of touchdowns from Robert Hickman.

After falling in the state title game last season, Mart has now outscored their opponents 121-7 this season on their way to a 3-0 record.

Flatonia quarterback Fidel Venegas threw for 132 yards but the Bulldogs had real trouble running the football against the Panthers, and only managed 13 yards on the ground Friday.

Flatonia (2-1) has played all three of its games this year at home, but now embarks on three road games, beginning this Friday at Falls City, which is 2-1 and is coming off a 34-12 win over Stockdale last week.
