Newcomb Wins First Football Reader Jackpot of the Season

Walter Newcomb of La Grange became the first winner of our reader football pick-it contest sponsored by Oviedo Auto group when he correctly picked all 10 games last week. He is shown above, right, accepting his check from Johnny Oviedo. Four readers actually submitted perfect 10-0 ballots. They were Doug Stewart, Mark Hebert, Larry Zbranek and Walter Newcomb. Newcomb won the $200 on the score prediction tiebreaker. He predicted a Columbus win of 40-14. The prize was $200 because no one picked all 10 winner the first week. Our contest goes back to $100 this week. Turn in the ballot (always printed in our Tuesday newspaper) to our office by 5 p.m. Friday to enter. No photo copies. Good luck!
