LG Girls Win By 35 Over Giddings

The La Grange girls basketball team used a huge third quarter to beat Giddings Friday 66-31 on the road.

“We got off to a slow start really, had a lot of steals but couldn’t convert early,” said La Grange head coach Heath Golan. “We settled down in the third quarter, that’s when we made our big run and carried that into the fourth quarter.”

Keslyn Davis led La Grange in scoring with 19 points. Kylie Trlicek and Xeriah Jimenez each added 10.

The victory improved the Lady Leps’ record to 16-9 overall and 9-1 in district. La Grange heads into the final week of the season in position to earn at least a tie for the district title.

They host the two last place teams in the district, Austin Achieve at 5:30 p.m. Monday and Manor New Tech at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Tuesday’s game will include Senior and Parents’ night festivities.

“We go into these last two games trying to stay crisp and working on some things we need to do to get ready for the playoffs,” Golan said.
