LG Girls Soccer Falls to No. 1 Giddings

The La Grange girls soccer team played at Giddings Saturday and lost 4-0 to a Lady Buffs team that is now 14-0 and ranked No. 1 in the state in state in Class 4A.

Giddings led just 1-0 at half-time.

“Solid first half from the girls, unfortunately we couldn’t maintain it in the second half and the match got away from us,” said La Grange head girls soccer coach Chris Westall. “I’ve got to give credit to Giddings for their second half play. They raised their game and we weren’t able to respond. We’ve had some good opportunities this season competing against top teams and, although we’re falling just a bit short, it will certainly make us a better come playoff time. For now, we’ve got a busy week coming up with three district matches, so we have to put this one behind us quickly.”
