Leps’ Bats Explode in 12-8 Win Over Giddings
In a wild game in Giddings Friday the La Grange Leps beat the Buffaloes 12-8.
That win pulls the Leps into a second-place tie with Giddings. Both have 3-1 district record and are one game behind district leading Smithville.
La Grange, with Friday’s win, also avenged a 3-1 Tuesday loss to Giddings. Friday’s game was nothing like Tuesday’s pitcher’s duel.
The Leps banged out 16 hits, with Brendan Maddox and Kadyn Hall each getting three hits. Hall had two doubles. Maddox, Clay Wolff and Ty Stark also hit doubles for the Leps.
Stark drove in two runs. Bennett Barber drove in two.
Cameron Kruse pitched the first inning before Brock Loehr hurled five inning of three-run relief before Trenton Barnes got the save.
Easton Kylberg got three hits for Giddings and Cameron Page drove in three.
La Grange trailed 7-5 going into the fifth inning but scored five runs in that frame and two more in the sixth to grab the win.
The Leps play at Manor New Tech Tuesday and then host them Thursday.
