Lady Leopards Fall to Salado

The La Grange girls basketball team has started the season well, but went into the Thanksgiving break with a little adversity.

In their final action before the holiday, the Lady Leps lost to visiting Salado 52-39 Tuesday afternoon.

The loss dropped La Grange’s overall record to 5-3 as they prepare to play at Bellville Tuesday.

La Grange started the game strong and led by three at halftime, but Salado controlled the second half.

Aysia Grant led La Grange in scoring with 15. She was the only Lady Lep in double figures. La Grange was without one of their leading scorers, Keslyn Davis, who was out with an injury. She is expected back this week, head coach Heath Golan said.

“I thought up to this point of the season we had played pretty well and we got after it well at times today but I think we got tired,” Golan said. “Not having Keslyn hurt our depth a bit. We just have to learn to fight through some things, not get frustrated.

“Their length gave us some problems. They have some tall, long girls in there. If we come back from the break focused, I think we’ll be fine.”
