Ladies Bible Study Feb. 3 in Flatonia
The area ladies are invited to join in a Bible Study lead by Jennifer Rightmer at the Flatonia Baptist Church in the Sellers Center. It will be a six weeks study beginning Feb. 3 at 9:30 a.m. Books will be available for purchase for $15 or you can get a copy on your own. The study is called “It’s Under Control” by Jennifer Dukes Lee. The course of the study it will help: uncover surprising truths from the life of Jesus about busyness, obedience and asking for help; discover the five major reasons that keep us from trusting God - and how to overcome them; learn how to make healthier, wiser decisions about how to spend your time and energy; and find practical exercises and scriptural truths to guide you in living a life of surrender to God.
This study isn’t about a journey “to do less,” it’s about becoming more of who God has truly created you to be. All ladies are invited to come and check out this study. It is a great way to spend Thursday mornings with some wonderful ladies seeking to learn more and figuring out the difference of letting go of the things you can’t control and finding the strength to hang on tighter to those you can and finally learning how to tell the difference.
Out and About
Nancie Blair took off last weekend to lunch Fort Worth to visit her mom, Elaine Lang. While there Nancie did her mom’s hair. Later she was joined by her sister Lu Ginapp and they put up a workstation for their mom in her apartment. The three ladies then went to a ladies luncheon for the baseball women’s club they belong to. They also had a birthday lunch for Nancie’s great nephew. Eleven family members gathered to help celebrate his 18th birthday, including his family, Nancie’s niece Chrystal, her husband Steve and sister Carolina Riddle. It was a very busy weekend.
I just got back from a fast trip to Steamboat Springs, Colorado where I flew in to visit my old friends Alayna and Dave Kidd at their home. They are raising Belgium Malinois puppies along with their barrel horses. They had a litter of puppies they are currently placing in their for ever home. Alayna and I drove back with four puppies. It was an interesting ride back home.
Nancy and Martin Cherry just said goodbye to their daughter AnneMarie Cherry. She had been home from her job as an assistant professor of horn at Schwob School of Music at Columbia State University in Columbus, Georgia.
Weather
Muldoon has been seeing some colder temperatures recently. A hard freeze that had everyone had to bundle up pipes and put out extra bales for the cattle. Temperatures were in the twenties. Then light rains fell early in the week keeping things feeling really chilly and damp.
Ill
There are a number in the area that has come down with COVID. There are a number who have caught the flu and other bugs. Be sure and check on your neighbors during these trying times. Especially check in on your elderly neighbors. They might be in need of some help with picking up groceries or some other errand that might need to be done. We all have to pull together and take care of each other.
