La Grange vs. Smithville

When: 7:30 p.m. Friday Where: La Grange Records: Leps are 2-3 overall. Smithville is 1-4.

Of Note: Smithville heads into this game on a four-game losing streak, but they have played a tough nondistrict schedule just like the Leps, and both these teams are certainly playoff contenders. Jaden Williams has run for a team-high 360 yards this season for the Leps and Bear Meng has thrown for 339 yards. Jakobe Wilkerson scored three TDs in the win against Splendora two weeks ago.

Last meeting: Last season La Grange beat Smithville 37-22 in one of the wildest meetings ever between these longtime rivals. La Grange jumped out to a 22-0 lead only to see Smithville roar back to tie the game late in the fourth quarter. But Bravion Rogers ran for two TDs in the game’s final two minutes to vault the Leps to the win.
