La Grange Volleyball Opens District Play With a Dominating Victory

The La Grange volleyball team has officially put its early season struggles in the rear view mirror.

The Lady Leps may still only have a 10-22 overall record but they won their first match that really counts Friday, blasting Austin Eastside 25-9, 25-3, 25-6 in the district opener for both teams. Maddi Mach led the Lady Leps in kills with six and Maddi Fritz added five. Emma Coltrain had a team-high eight digs and 15 aces. Fritz led in assists with 16.

The La Grange JV defeated Eastside Memorial 25-7, 25-3 to improve to 6-5 overall and 1-0 in district.

The Lady Leps return to action when they host Giddings Tuesday. The freshmen and JV matches will start at 5 p.m. followed by the varsity match about 6 p.m.

Giddings has a 17-13 record and is 1-0 in district after sweeping Manor New Tech Friday.

La Grange and Giddings were district co-champs last year.
