LG 8th grade 0
The 8th Grade Leopards capped off their season Thursday night with a 14-0 loss to Smithville. The Leopards struggled with the Tiger defense the entire night. “They brought six, seven or eight guys on every play all night long. We just couldn’t make the adjustment well enough to give us a chance,” said Coach Amick. There were a few big plays made by Jeffrey Cabrerra, Ayden Gunter, and Mason Kleiber.
“Defensively we played well, minus the two big plays they scored on,” said Coach Otto. Amick added, “0-0 at half and giving up only two touchdowns, I would’ve said I like our chances.” The tough La Grange defense was led by Brayden McCoy, Ramon Ortiz, Fabian Soto, and Kash Wessels.

“I’ve coached in the district now for 12 years, and visited with coaches that have been here over 20, and they can’t recall an undefeated 7th grade season. So we know it’s been some time since that has happened,” said Coach Walker. “This is by far the most selfless group that I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with, at any level. I’ve coached 5A-2A, middle school to high school, and I’ve never seen a group work together as a complete team any better. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed working with them this season.”
