La Grange Girls Soccer Fourth at Maroon Cup Tourney

The La Grange girls varsity soccer team finished 4th in the Maroon Cup this weekend at the HWY 36 Classic hosted by Needville and Columbia High School.

• Day One of the tournament (1/12) La Grange defeated Ft. Bend Marshall 5-0. Goals Scored by Kaylee Soto (2 goals), Andrea Ortiz (2 goals), and Natalie Orona

• Day two (1/13) La Grange faced Texas City, tied 1-1 in regular game play, goal scored by Shyla Rodriguez, we completed penalty kicks to settle the tie and Texas City took the 1st place spot outscoring the Lady Leps 4-3. La Grange then went on to face Iowa Colony and won 3-1 clenching the 2nd place spot in our pool, goals scored by Kaylee Soto (2 goals), and Andrea Ortiz.

• Day 3 (1/14) La Grange faced Lamar Consolidated to battle for 3rd place. Lamar Consolidated earned a late goal to win 1-0.

• Ellee Sodolak was named to the all tournament team due to her tremendous effort on the field throughout the tournament.

The Lady Leps are back in action Friday (1/20) to face Uvalde in Leopard Stadium at 5:30 p.m.
