La Grange and Round Top-Carmine Keep Strong Starts to Volleyball Season Going

La Grange’s Avery Griffin had 11 kills to lead the Lady Leps to a dominating sweep of Caldwell at home Tuesday 25-4, 25-14, 25-6.

The victory improved the Lady Leps overall record to 8-3 heading into this weekend’s Bastrop Tournament.

Campbell Cooper and Gabby Hollek had five kills each and Brion Williams, Hannah Gross and Kyndal Brawley each had three kills.

Paige Michalke had nine aces and Haedyn Cooper had three.

Hollek and Ashtyn Smith had seven digs each and Hollek had 19 assists.

RTC

The Round Top-Carmine volleyball team snagged a big win over Giddings Tuesday in four sets. The Cubettes rallied from down 13-4 in that final set to win 2522, 25-19, 21-25, 26-24.

The Cubettes are now 5-4 overall.

Fayetteville

The Fayetteville volleyball team lost their first match of the season Tuesday in four sets to Burton 20-25, 26-24, 19-25, and 24-26.

Lainey Gromaski had 11 kills for Fayetteville and Cambree Denham had six.

Raelee Denham, Gromaski and Lilly Aldape each had three aces for the Lady Lions.

Emily Keilers had 14 digs and Scotti Beseda had 23 assists.

Fayetteville plays at the Schulenburg Tournament Thursday through Saturday.

Schulenburg

The Schulenburg volleyball team lost to Bellville Tuesday 27-25, 14-25, 25-15, 25-11. The Lady Horns are now 4-6 and Bellville is 4-5. The Lady Horns host their home tournament starting Thursday.
