LHS Cheerleaders Shine at Camp

Three La Grange seniors were invited to join the Universal Cheerleaders Association staff following graduation. They are, left to right: Clara Bundick, Kaylee Soto and Caleigh Brock.

The La Grange High School Cheer team recently completed at the Universal Cheerleaders Association (UCA) Cheer Camp at University of Texas.

There were 21 studentathletes from LHS who attended.

La Grange had five girls make All- American cheerleaders and an All- American mascot.

• Mascot- Freshman- Julia Melton

• Seniors- Clara Bundick, Caleigh Brock, Kaylee Soto

• Juniors- Haedyn Cooper, Jace Baptiste La Grange won 1st place in their camp dance including a stunt pyramid and 3rd place in their game day competition that included a band dance, situational sideline, and cheer.

Lulu (the mascot) received a leadership award.

Jace Baptiste and Clara Bundick received the UCA 'Pin It Forward' award. It’s a special recognition given at camp to cheerleaders who exemplify positive qualities like leadership, spirit, commitment, kindness, and motivation.

La Grange had three seniors (Clara Bundick, Kaylee Soto and Caleigh Brock) invited to join the UCA staff following graduation.

“Overall we had an amazing week,” said La Grange cheer coach Kamdyn Dandignac. “We are excited for this coming year. We start choreography in July for our fall UCA and UIL competitions.”
