Schulenburg senior football player Keisean Johnson has been battling injuries throughout the season, but had a strong showing for his return in the Shorthorns’ most recent game against Luling where he rushed for 73 yards and two touchdowns on 10 carries. “That was the first full game he’s played in,” said Schulenburg head football coach Walt Brock. “He played a little bit in the Hallettsville game, so having him back is big with that hamstring. He’s a very positive person. He’s fun to coach. The kids that are around him, they have fun and he’s a good leader. It’s great to have him back.” Johnson’s comeback ability has landed him the nomination for this edition’s Fayette County Athlete of the Week.
