All Five Fayette County Volleyball Teams Win District Matches Friday

La Grange Beats Smithville in Four

The La Grange volleyball team went to Smithville Friday and bounced back from a slow start to beat the Lady Tigers in four sets. After dropping the first set 21-25, the Lady Leps won the next three 25-21, 25-14, 25-19.

The victory improves the Lady Leps’ overall record to 11-23 and 2-1 in district.

Kill leaders were Maddi Mach with 13, Camille Gonzalez with 12 and Maddi Fritz with 10. Dig Leaders were Fritz with 30 and Hailey Hill with 17.

Jena Jobb led in aces with 4 and Hill had three. Hill led in assists with 17 and Fritz had 16. Gonzalez had three blocks and Tori Harold had two.

In subvarsity action the La Grange JV defeated Smithville 25-13, 25-15 to improve to 8-5 overall and 3-0 in district. The La Grange Freshmen defeated Smithville 25-15, 25-7 to improve to 8-4 overall and 1-1 in district.

The Lady Lep teams will host Manor New Tech on Tuesday, Sept 21. Freshmen and JV will start at 5 p.m. with the varsity to follow, about 6 p.m.

Fayetteville Comes Back on Burton

The Fayetteville volleyball team survived a five-set thriller Friday, beating Burton. The Lady Lions lost the first two sets 25-19 and 25-20, but rallied to win the final three sets 27-25, 25-19, 15-12.

Brooklyn Jaeger had 45 kills and Kayme Schley had six.

Mattie Konvicka had three aces. Jaeger had four blocks.

Schley had 18 digs, Jaeger had 16, Marissa Rohde had 15, Alley Keen and Konvicka had 12 each.

Konvicka had 45 assists.

The Lady Lions are now 29-1 overall and 3-0 in district.

Flatonia Pounds Prairie Lea

The Flatonia volleyball team pounded Prairie Lea Friday 25-4, 25-6, 25-15 in district action.

The Lady Bulldogs are now 14-13 overall and 1-1 in district.

Karli Siptak led Flatonia in kills with 12 and Ellie Fike had 10 and Braidy Fike had seven.

Ellie Fike had nine aces, and Macy Bonds and Camryn Smith had seven aces each. Katherine Bruns led in digs with 13 and Bonds had a team-high 26 assists.

Lady Horns Sweep Shiner

The Schulenburg volleyball team defeated Shiner in three sets Friday as the Lady Horns’ improved their record to 21-9 overall and 2-1 in district.

Mackenzie Kuntschick led the team in aces with five and Tamara Otto had a team-high 24 assists for the Lady Horns.

Jordan Sommer had nine kills and Meredith Magliolo and Kuntschick added seven kills each.

Kieryn Adams had 13 digs and Claire Antosh had 10.

RT-C Smashes Snook

The Round Top-Carmine volleyball team defeated Snook Friday in district action 25-16, 25-11, 25-9.

The victory improves the Cubettes’ record to 3-0. The Cubettes got eight kills,

The Cubettes got eight kills, eight digs and four aces from Ilse Salinas.

Mallory Krause had six kills, eight digs and 17 assists.

Tess Eilers had nine kills and six digs. Kim Rohde had four digs.

Jill Eilers had four kills, five digs and 13 assists.

Kaysie Ward had six kills, Kennedy Flinn had four kills and Maggie Salinas had eight digs.
