Horns Rise to No. 3 in the New State Baseball Rankings, But 16-Game Win Streak Snapped

The Schulenburg baseball team saw its 16-game win streak snapped Tuesday with a

2-1 loss to Shiner.

Owen Brenek pitched six innings of four-hit, two run ball for the Shorthorns, and Nick Goode pitched the final inning.

Ian Reeves hit a pair of doubles and had the only RBI for Schulenburg when he drove in Reid Janda, who hit a double Tuesday.

Connor Lichnovsky had the only other hit for the Shorthorns, who fell to 19-4 overall and 9-1 in district with the loss.

Landyn Pohler and Lane Simper combined on the pitching effort for Shiner.
