High School Volleyball Season Starts Next Week

High school volleyball teams in Fayette County began practicing earlier this week and are now having their first scrimmages.

They all begin regular season matches next week.

Fayetteville and Schulenburg were both one set away from making the state tournament a year ago, and both teams return some important stars.

La Grange went 16-15 last season but 11-1 in district and was a co-district champion last year (tied with Giddings) and the Lady Leps return three players who were starters last year.

Round Top-Carmine is always a state title contender and Flatonia went 18-10 last season and advanced to the second round of the playoffs.
