High School Baseball Round-Up

The Schulenburg baseball team lost a playoff warm-up game to Marion Thursday 132. Reid Janda, Owen Brenek and Van Prihoda each had two hits for Schulenburg.

The Shorthorns are 22-5 overall and now advance to the Bi-District round of the 2A playoffs where they will face Kenedy in a best-of-three series. Game 1 will be Wednesday at 6 p.m. in Kenedy. Game 2 will be Thursday at Hallettville High School at 6 p.m. If needed, Game 3 will be Friday, details to be determined.

RT-C

The Round Top-Carmine baseball team will begin the 1A playoffs with a best-ofthree series against Hull-Daisetta this week.

All games are in Huntsville. Game 1 is Wednesday at 6 p.m. Game 2 is Thursday at 6 p.m. and if necessary Game 3 would be Monday May 4 at 6 p.m.

Fayetteville

The Fayetteville baseball team lost to Mumford 6-5 Friday to fall to 5-5 overall.

The Lions were leading 5-2 before Mumford rallied for four runs in the seventh.

Fayetteville’s Jack Schley pitched 6.1 innings, striking out 11. Slade Cejka had three hits for the Lions. The district champion Lions have a first round playoff bye
