Golf Course Damaged in Middle of Night
An estimated $10,000 in damage was done to the Frisch Auf! Valley Country Club in the middle of the night Monday.
It is believed that two vehicles drove all over the saturated course, tearing up the fairway of Hole No. 5 and the greens of Hole No. 4.
Two signs and a mail box were also knocked down.
Lizzie Placke-Drosche, Frisch Auf! general manager, said Hole No. 5 would still be playable but it will be weeks before No. 4 could be fixed and playable.
“We’re estimating the damage at $10,000 because of all the man-hours it’s going to take to fix this,” she said.
The incident has been reported to the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department and anyone with information is asked to contact them at (979) 968-5856.
Several local golfers have joined together and are offering a $1,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest. Some student members of Frisch Auf! have also set up a GoFundme account for repairs.
