Of Note: The Shorthorns are still looking for their first win of the season and they are running out of time, but this Friday represents one of the last best chances to break their seasonlong losing streak. After starting the season by winning two of their first three games, Weimar has lost five in a row, but each of their last three district loses have come by 10 points or less as former Giddings head coach Wade Griffin looks to make strides in his first year at the helm in Weimar ... Schulenburg lost last week to Flatonia 42-7. Defense has been the big issue for Schulenburg. The Shorthorns have yet to allow less than 36 points in a game this season. Last week marked the first game as head coach for interim Gilbert Price, who was promoted after Walt Brock was placed on administrative leave.
