La Grange vs. Canyon Lake

Records: LG is 1-0, Canyon Lake is 0-1.
Of Note: Canyon Lake’s Slot-T rushing attack was really stifled last week in a 20-3 loss to Wimberley. Expect them to bring lots of misdirection running plays with them to the new turf at Leopard Stadium this week. ... Meanwhile, La Grange is still riding high from last week’s last-second victory over Rockdale when, with the game tied, Bravion Rogers blocked the Tigers’ game-winning field goal try and returned it 77 yards for a touchdown. Clay Wolff looked sharp at times running and throwing the football but he also threw three interceptions. Ryder Imhoff ran for two touchdowns for the Leps.
Last meeting: Canyon Lake beat La Grange 61-23 last year as the Hawks ran for 538 yards and had 663 total yards of offense. La Grange’s D.J. Taylor ran for 157 yards and 2 TDs against Canyon Lake last season.

Of Note: Schulenburg started the season with a 35-23 win over Stockdale as Desmond Lewis ran for 88 yards, Tyler Ryba threw for 91. Five different Shorthorns ended up scoring the five touchdowns for Schulenburg Friday ... Randolph opened the season with a 49-7 win over Young Men’s Leadership Academy ...
Last meeting: You’ve got to go back to 2013 to find the last time Schulenburg played Randolph. They were in the same district back then and the Shorthorns won 63-14.

Of Note: Flatonia was nearly flawless last week in a 61-0 win over Runge as Dayton Cliffe threw a couple of touchdown passes and ran for two score. Fidel Venegas threw three touchdown passes ... Stockdale, meanwhile, is coming off a 35-23 loss to Schulenburg last week. The Brahmas had real trouble running the football against the Shorthorns, gaining just 18 yards on the ground. Stockdale also lost four fumbles.
Last Meeting: Flatonia beat Stockdale 25-6 last season as Chris Johnston ran for two touchdowns and Keyshaun Green scored twice, one rushing and one passing.
