Jordyn Ponewash, a senior at Flatonia High School and a member of the Flatonia Lady Bulldog Varsity golf team, signed her letter on Wednesday to play golf for Texas Lutheran University in Seguin. Jordyn earned the District Champion title her sophomore and junior years and reached the UIL State Golf Tournament both years.

Due to COVID, there was no golf season her Freshman year. Jordyn picked up a golf club for the first time in her life the summer before her freshman year.

She chose TLU after a visit to the campus left her feeling welcomed. “I love the size and the feel of the campus, and after meeting with the coaches and learning more about their program, I knew this was the right place for me. The close proximity to home also made my decision easier because I am very close to my family” shared Ponewash.

Coach Ce Ce Oden has coached Jordyn up until this year as she retired at the end of last year. Coach Oden uses the words determined, hard working and perservering to describe Jordyn.

Jordyn is the daughter of Nikki and the late Tim Ponewash.
