Flatonia Girls Surge to Regional Semifinals

The Flatonia softball team (16-6) bashed Riviera Kaufer 10-0 and 12-2 to sweep their way to an Area title in Beeville last week.

In Game 1, Jalee Trussell pitched a complete game onehitter and the Lady Bulldogs bashed out nine hits. Presley Cliffe, Braeley Nieto, Abbie Uzzell and Kara Croyle all had two hits for Flatonia in that game.

In Game 2, Cliffe pitched a complete game three-hitter. Trussell and Croyle each had three hits and three RBIs. Brynlee Zimmerman had two hits, including a triple. Emma Kosler also had two hits.

The Lady Bulldogs now head to the regional semifinals where they will face Thorndale in a three-game series at Bastrop High School. Game 1 is Thursday at 6:30 p.m. Game 2 is Friday at 6 p.m. and, if needed, Game 3 would follow 30 minutes after Game 2.
