Flatonia Dominates Junction to March Into Second Round

The Flatonia football team overpowered Junction 59-32 in their first round playoff game Thursday in San Antonio.

Fidel Venegas threw for 311 yards and six touchdowns and also ran for a team-high 82 yards.

Keyshaun Green and Jaidyn Guyton each caught two touchdown passes. Dayton Cliffe and Titan Targac also had touchdown catches. Venegas ran for two touchdowns and Reese Ramirez ran for one. The Bulldog defense limited Junction (2-8) to just to 122 yards of total offense.

The win was Flatonia’s ninth in a row and improved the Bulldogs’ record to 10-1 and vaults them into an area round playoff game against Three Rivers (9-2) this Thursday at 7 p.m. at Marion High School.

The winner of that game advances to play the Shiner (9-2)/ Mason (9-2) winner in the third round.
