Fayetteville Wins Battle of Small School Powers

In a battle of two teams that made it to the state tournament last year, the Fayetteville baseball team scored an impressive win Tuesday at Flatonia, beating the Bulldogs 6-2.

The victory improves the Lions to 6-2 this season. Flatonia falls to 10-5-1.

Fayetteville’s Jack Schley pitched six innings of tworun ball Tuesday, striking out eight.

Dylan Henneke had three hits and two RBIs for the Lions. Kole Schmitt had two hits and scored twice. Lawson Fritsch hit a double and scored twice.

Chance Konvicka pitched a scoreless seventh, striking out three to close out the game.
