Fayetteville & Flatonia Head to the Third Round of the Basketball Playoffs

Two Fayette County boys basketball teams are headed to the regional quarterfinal round of the playoffs after impressive victories Friday.
The #14-ranked Fayetteville Lions traveled to Kenedy where they knocked off #10-ranked San Perlita 71-53.
Karson Corn led the way for the Lions with 24 points and Keagan Supak added 15.
The Lions, who have a record of 27-7, now advance to the third round where they will play D’Hanis Tuesday at 6 p.m. at Seguin.
‘Dogs Win Big
Also on Friday, the Flatonia
Bulldogs went to Magnolia West and beat Evadale 69-43.
The Bulldogs (who have a 31-4) record, now advance to the third round of the playoffs where they will play Milano (21-8) Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. at Giddings.
This is a rematch (same round, same gym) of last year’s regional quarterfinal in which Milano beat the Bulldogs 53-49.
Friday Flatonia was led by Holden Kloesel, who scored 18, Keyshaun Green scored 17.
Jaidyn Guyton and Camden Bosl each scored 11.
Dayton Cliffe scored seven, Duke Sodek and Keegan Green scored two and Luke Law scored one.
