Diggs Continues Blistering Times

Several local teams competed at the Columbus Cardinal Relays Thursday.

On the boys side, Hallettsville won the meet with 130.5 points and La Grange was second with 104.

La Grange’s Austen Diggs won the 100 meters with a time of 10.06 (the meet used hand-held times so this doesn’t count, but a 10.06 would be a new state record. La Grange coach Rusty Cauthern said he clocked Diggs at a 10.4, still very impressive.) Diggs also won the 200 meters with a time of 21.33.

Fayetteville’s Cole Fenhaus won the 3200 meters with a time of 10:56.

La Grange’s Julian Sherman won the 110 meter hurdles with a time of 15.92.

The Leps also won the 4x200 relay with a time of 1:29. Relay members were C.J. Davis, Thai Scott Jaden Williams and Diggs.

Jaren Woods of La Grange won the shot put with a throw of 53-1.5 Flatonia’s Zach Charanza won the discus with a throw of 137-8.75.

Fayetteville’s Lawson Fritsch won the pole vault with a clearance of 11-0.

On the girls side, Shiner won the meet with 220 points. La Grange was second with 132.

La Grange’s Kylie Trlicek won the 200 meter dash with a time of 26.56.

Schulenburg’s Brooke Redding won the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 16.40.

La Grange’s Ella Nygren won the triple jump with a distance of 32-9.5
