Corn Scoring in Bunches for the Red-Hot Fayetteville Hoops Team
Fayetteville senior basketball player Karson Corn has been one of the key instruments in a dominant start to the 22-23 hoop season. After coming off of an injury, Corn has used his pure jump shot and shifty athletic ability to score the ball, resulting in superior numbers for a Lions team that has a record of 18-7 overall and 7-0 in district play.
“He’s definitely had a big part of that,” said Fayetteville head boys basketball coach Jake Diggs on Corn’s contributions to their success. “He started off the year very strong and then got hurt in our tournament. Had to go through about three weeks of rehab and missing a lot of games, but he’s come back and started scoring for us again. Great for the guys’ moral to have him back and knowing that we can count on him. He’s just been a great leader for us the whole year and hopefully that continues.”
Corn’s mighty comeback has given him the nod for this edition’s Athlete of the Week.
