La Grange basketball player Jaxon Cooper has taken on a big role for Leopards basketball as one of the leading scorers on the team throughout the season. In a recent win over Smithville last Friday, Cooper led all scorers with 18 points on the outing. Cooper is also the son of La Grange head boy’s basketball coach David Cooper. “He kind of got off to a slow start this season, but really starting to come on now,” said David Cooper. “He had a little illness over the Navasota tournament, so that kind of slowed him down a little bit. He’s starting to get his legs back under him. We really need him to score, honestly. He needs to be up around 16 to 20 points a game for us. It’s always nice when he can do what he’s capable of doing.” Cooper’s efficient workload has been key for La Grange basketball, giving him the nod for this edition’s Player of the Week.

Question: In what ways do you think you contribute the most to your team?

Question: How would you describe the culture of La Grange?

Cooper has become the goto option for La Grange hoops and is one that can be heavily relied upon.
