La Grange high school senior Megan Brothers just finished her volleyball season as a first team all-district selection and has entered basketball season among the leading scorers in all three games this season. She was also a starter on last year’s basketball team that tied the school record for most wins in a season. Brothers doesn’t only perform on the court, she’s also very involved in charity events and livestock activities. “I’ve been fortunate to coach her all four years,” said La Grange head women’s basketball coach Heath Golan. “I’ve seen her grow up since she was a freshman. She’s definitely got a competitive edge on her. She’s always going to compete. No matter how good she plays, she thinks she can always play better. Sometimes that’s good. But at other times, it’s just keeping her focused and maybe finding another avenue that she could contribute. But she usually does, so it’s been nice having that for four years.” Brothers’ appetite for success has earned her rights to this edition’s Player of the Week.
